I am not sure if this is a quote, it might be a paraphrase, but either way I think it is an interesting statement. If we knew ourselves, we would run away. We do not want to be who we really are. It is fear of the truth that causes people to run away from themselves. This quote says that we need not know ourselves in order for us to keep living our lives the way we want to.
